Sacramento, CA – August 2, 2008 – Every year, five students are recognized as outstanding leaders based on their leadership qualities, character and participation during the African American Youth Leadership Program’s Summer Conference.  This year’s top five will each receive a scholarship of $1000, made possible by a grant from Southern California Edison.

And the winners are:

Terrance Womack (top male leader),

Sekani Redellant (presenter pick),

Tommy Ross (RPIC president),

I’sis Green (top female leader),

The top five are selected by AAYLP staff, presenters, and their fellow students through AAYLP’s Honor Bead system, where participants earn beads for notable acts of leadership during the conference.  At the end of the conference, the participants with the most beads in each category are awarded the Jerome E.
